Effect of Stress on Recovery

Updated: Nov 16, 2021

A few weeks ago I got a lovely letter letting me know that my business name “Blue Zone Physio” needed to change ASAP! Needles to say, I immediately got to work on changing everything related to my business. I sat down and created a plan to quickly remedy the situation. I was so focused on getting in front of this problem that my SLEEP, EATNIG, AND EXERCISE all went to SHIT....and guess what I PAID FOR IT BIG TIME.

The past few weeks I have been in a bad mood, way more tired than I’m used to, and allowed my self to have a grand ole’ pitty party!

After a few weeks of this I got tired of being in a bad mood and decided I needed to break this cycle. From past experience I knew that trying to get back to my old routine all at once wasn’t going to work so I decided to focus on ONE THING first....GRATITUDE.

Each day and night I spent time thinking about things in my life that I am grateful for and I was able to slowly work my way out of my self induced jerk mode. I’m happy to say that the tickle up effect from the gratitude sessions has allowed me to get back on track towards sleeping, eating, and exercising.

So how does this relate to recovery and healing? Well, if you‘ve ever been injured and had life get in the way you know how easy it is to get derailed. Rehabbing from an injury is a long hard process and you are going to have to pull your self out of a funk at some point. When that happens take some time to focus on what you are grateful for and the rest will take care of it self.

Best of luck on your healthcare journey. If you are interested in learning more about how Blue Iron Physio can help you recover from your injuries and get you back to an active life, click here, to set up a call with Dr. David Schwartz
